We are staying at Mt Myohyang - the name means mysterious and fragrant. And we certainly awaken to a misty, mysterious morning
Breakfast - typically toast and omelette and other.
It's time for a walk/hike. The spring weather is lovely - cool and sunny
But of course 'others' have been there before us and left their reminders carved in the rock

Nearby is the International Friendship Exhibition - two vast shrines that contain all the gifts given to Kim Il Song and Kim Jong Il. There are over 100,000 gifts but fortunately we only see the highlights. The buildings go down for many levels deep into the mountain and once inside we can't take photos.
Who knows why; the gifts are the usual kitsch and expensive bad taste you could see anywhere.
Lots of locals are visiting too and they are dressed in their finest.
This is the Pyohon Buddhist Temple which dates back to 1044 (with frequent renovations)

Our last visit for the day is to the Ryongmun Caves - a 6km walk through its various caverns with stalactites etc
The it is back on the bus and we head back to Pyongyang for the weekend
