Often we arrived at our hotel in the dark and it was only in the morning that we could see our surroundings. This was one of the villas of the Spa Hotel. It has 20 villas dotted over a large area. Previously it was a Government Guest House - all very Soviet in style.
The day began with the Western Sea Barrage - an 8km long sea dam, with locks, that was built to protect inland areas from the salt water of the big tides.

Driving north we stopped at this lovely rest area with its playful statues.

I took quite a few shots from the bus window - often the were hopelessly blurry - but they show some of the rural areas well.
At Sinchon we visited the Museum which details the US atrocities committed in the town against the civilian population. Our North Korean guides would translate from the local guide and would often skip the more vitriolic (towards the US) parts.
The above 3 apparently survived and the one on the left actually works at the museum - but was not there the day we visited.

Sobered up we head to Sariwon for lunch. Obnviously the locals are practising for some mass dance
Sariwon has a Folk Village with nice views.
It is a popular spot for wedding couples too. They liked to get the tourists in their wedding photos!
