Pre-hiking

The Korean Class people organised a hike on Saturday.

I vastly over-estimated how long it would take me to get the bus etc and ended up in town with a good half hour spare. Another beautiful crispy clear morning - so - photo time.

This is one of the main intersections downtown but at 8.30am on a Saturday it is fairly quiet.

There is a special Korean word 'tanpung' meaning 'leaves change colour'

And this shop sells fancy plastic covering for your cellphone. I rather liked the "Paul Smith' stripes.
This is E-Mart - similar to Walmart - a combo of general goods and supermkt. It is the first place everyone learns how to get to, being in the heart of town, and so is one of our best meeting places.
A local dairy/convenience store - also with Chinese writing. The inverse swastika means there is a temple there.

The Nubija bikes - similar to the ones in Paris - can pick up and drop off at allocated points.

First you have to pay a hefty deposit and initially foreigners couldn't use them at all. Now we are probably too lazy to sort thru' the paperwork....
