Cooking Zone

We have now adding 'Cooking Zone' to our repertoire (the others are Immigration, Hotel, Restaurant, Market and Hospital).
It was last day of the 8 week stint - so we started with Closing Ceremony - where the students received Award Certificates (thank you internet templates) and an eraser. Then it was on to the good stuff - French Toast.

A watched pan never cooks
The knife and fork was a bit of an effort - like me and chopsticks
The topping was tomato sauce/ketchup. Someone in the second class also brought some cheese to add to his.

Then they got arty/or is it just Asian? with the ketchup

No one got hurt in the making - so I guess it's a success.
Next we might try out the blenders....

  1. Ketchup on french toast? Is this a New Zealand thing, or a Korea thing? (I put maple syrup on mine).

  2. Blogspot is the weirdest thing, it'll let me tag myself as from k2sc1, but not livefrommasan. They're both from wordpress and are from the same dashboard.

  3. Definitely Korean
We (in NZ) go for more elaborate versions with bacon, banana and maple syrup etc - all together

  4. Great photos Ju. What's with the glasses? I'd have thought kids would be self-conscious about wearing glasses but your kids seem to be from the Elton-John School of Spectacle Style Selection :-)

  5. Appearance counts for a lot here - plus it may be the best way to get the kids to wear them.

  6. Julia, this is serious! There should have been maple syrup or St Dalfours Blueberry Conserve.

Just had a lovely weekend on Banks Peninsula. Little River Gallery had a stunning exhibition of sculpture by David Lloyd called "Down the Gurgler". His response to the GFC and recycled plumbing parts. Check their website.

  7. Feel free to send Red Cross parcels for our next French Toast effort - though I think the kids prefer savoury - weird huh?
Looked at Little River Gallery - cool work
